Guarantor (co-signer) Application


This application is to be completed by a potential guarantor for an applicant who has submitted a Loan application. All applicants must be Cincinnati residents. Please read the Cincinnati Jewish Interest Free Loan (CJIFL) Website Privacy Statement here. After reading, complete all sections of this application. Co-signers must demonstrate financial means and ability to repay the full loan amount and are liable for the loan repayment. In addition, co-signers must:

  • The committee may require that at least one co-signer live in the Cincinnati area for at least one year and have United States citizenship or be a permanent resident. 
  • Be at least 21 years of age. 
  • CJIFL will consider no more than one family member not living in the same household as the applicant to act as co-signer to any loan. 
  • Complete and sign the co-signer Application, co-signer Release of Information, and Promissory note. 

A co-signer may NOT be:

  • Living solely on a fixed income from sources such as social security, welfare, or spousal or child support. 
  • In or considering bankruptcy. 
  • A borrower or co-signer on another currently open Hebrew Free Loan or CJIFL. 
  • Spouse or partner of borrower. 
  • Professionals working in the Jewish community, i.e. rabbis, cantors, Jewish Agency executives and staff etc. may not be co-signers. 
  • Inactive military service. 
  • A current recipient of emergency assistance grants.

PLEASE NOTE: SPOUSES OR SIGNIFICANT OTHERS CANNOT SERVE AS GUARANTORS, AND COUPLES WHO ARE MARRIED ARE CONSIDERED ONE GUARANTOR.
